STEM teacher training program

Society relies on STEM fields to solve global challenges such as climate change, poverty, and disease prevention. In 2019, Kenya revised its science curriculum to focus on inquiry-based learning and practical activities. Forskerfabrikken has developed a course based on its Summer School program to meet the requirements of the Kenyan curriculum and increase engagement and teaching competence through STEM Without Borders. IUG Norway has experience in contributing to basic infrastructure and sharing engineering expertise. Together with Forskerfabrikken, they are developing a modular STEM teacher training program. Their partners in Kenya include Eco Moyo Education Centre and Mara Girls Leadership School, which provide education to children and young people from vulnerable areas.
